Safety Valve
What is a Silo Safety Valve?
Makilus Silo Safety Valves are designed to balance internal pressure increases during silo filling. Although silos resemble pressure vessels, they are not classified as such due to material and manufacturing differences. Therefore, safety measures are essential to prevent damage. These valves work mechanically without electricity, opening when the set pressure level is exceeded, and releasing excess air to protect the silo.

Working Principle and Applications
If filter cartridges become clogged or maintenance is neglected, internal pressure inside the silo rises rapidly. At this stage, the Silo Safety Valve discharges excess air and stabilizes pressure. Also known as "Silo Pressure Relief Valve" or "Silo Air Vent," these valves are widely used in cement, food, chemical, plastic, and construction industries for safe bulk storage.
Technical Features and Benefits
Silo safety valves come with a standard connection flange for easy installation. All air passage surfaces are gasketed for maximum sealing. With no electrical requirement and low maintenance cost, they ensure long-lasting, safe, and reliable operation in silo systems.
